What are the recent developments in flexographic printing?
In the past 20 years, flexographic technology has developed rapidly. Undoubtedly, the biggest impact comes from the digital revolution, which impacts every aspect of flexo printing, from initial design to printing to post-processing. All prepress processes, such as graphic design, image acquisition, modification, page layout, film and plate making, are now digitized. The computer control program has completely changed the operation of the printing press; the video detection system and the automatic overprint control system ensure high-precision prints.
In the 1980s, pre-printing of corrugated boxes was carried out using a cascading and satellite flexo press. The number of screen lines can even reach 150 lines/inch.
In 1995, the flexo printing machine printed on the corrugated box was successfully developed, which greatly improved the printing quality of the corrugated box.
The ceramic plasma has a plating layer. The fine ceramic powder is heated to 5000 ° C and sprayed onto the ink holes to make the anilox roller hard and wear resistant. In addition, the use of a reverse doctor blade increases the durability of the ceramic coating and the accuracy of ink metering.
In the 1980s, lasers began to be used in the processing of anilox rolls. Laser etched ceramic anilox rolls now reach 1200 lines per inch.
The photosensitive resin version is already the mainstream of flexo. More advanced direct imaging plates and laser engraved plates are now booming. Sleeve plate technology is also emerging.
